The Council signed on to a coalition letter to the Biden administration in response to the Supreme Court's August 24, 2021 decision to refrain from blocking a U.S. District Court decision regarding the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), known as "Remain in Mexico". The letter urged the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to issue a new policy memo providing a fuller explanation for the decision to terminate the program, in order to comply with the court's order without restarting the program.
