Communicating Inclusion is a training for community leaders on the basics of communicating around contentious issues, as well as how to conduct local qualitative research that can drive a new deep story of inclusion at the community level.
We train community-based leaders who want to create more welcoming communities. The trainings and toolkit allow local organizers to do the work necessary to assess different groups’ values, fears, and motivations so that they might devise and activate better messengers and messages.
Ultimately, we believe this work will
1. promote peaceful communities
2. more effectively push back “othering” narratives that are divisive and promote us/them division, and
3. prevent these narratives and rhetoric from contributing to harm that targets people based on racial, ethnic,
national, or religious identity.
